Digital Storytelling | Be the Storyteller-in-Chief
Our stories are powerful, but they are battling a constant noise of those with a partial understanding of what success in a 21st century school truly looks and sounds like. Educators must begin to tell the stories of their success to a series of audiences so that a proper dialogue about education can exist on a foundation of truth surrounding our schools. Learn more about becoming a digital storyteller, how to develop these skills, and discover resources and tools for students, teachers and leaders. Become the Storyteller-in-Cheif of your slice of the education world!

Coaching Digital Learning Institute

For sixth year running, I have managed the logistics, planning, and delivery of this two-day institute for Instructional Technology Coaches. In 2014 I rebranded the event, (formerly Technology Leaders Institute) as well as implemented entertaining and relevant themes throughout in both environment and content and added a learning “playground” with tremendous success:
Workshops and learning opportunities are facilitated by educators across the state, offering a variety of innovative and self directed learning.

Innovation Boot Camp

The Friday Institute of Educational Innovation has hosted the Leading and Learning Summer Institute or "Boot Camp" since 2008 to support the growing need for rigorous and on the ground professional development needed for educators implementing digital learning in their schools and districts. I am proud to say I have been involved in all of them from the beginning!
This unique training emphasizes that technology is not the driving force of digital initiatives, but rather a deep understanding of the intersection of curricular standards and sound pedagogy through the use of content-specific and appropriate technology resources and applications.

B-D-A Facilitation | NCDPI
There is often misconceptions about what is meant to "facilitate" a planning meeting: Facilitate means “to make easy.” As a facilitator, your job is to make the meeting easier for the participants. Your main task is to help the team or group increase its effectiveness by improving its processes. A facilitator manages the method of the meeting, rather than the content. Facilitators are concerned with how decisions are made instead of what decisions are reached.

Empowering Innovative Communities in Education | NCDPI
Explore the role and benefits of online communities of practice in supporting digital age educators at all levels,  provide a dynamic environment for districts, schools and teachers to collaborate, and strengthen the ability to plan, implement, and sustain technology-enabled learning initiatives.
