The Nurturing of Implementation |
PLANNING-CULTIVATING-PREPARING FOR DIGITAL LEARNING
More About This... |
The North Carolina Digital Learning Initiative (NCLDI) has provided support and outreach to schools and districts engaged in digital-age learning initiatives across North Carolina. The initiative has its roots in a unique public-private collaboration that was launched as early as 2007 and has resulted in the development of the North Carolina Digital Learning Plan.
Over the past ten years, there has been a large investment in technology by local education agencies (LEAs) across our state. What we have learned through our research, however, it that LEAs needed guidance and planning support in order to maximize the educational impact of their investments. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation (FI) recently partnered to build a continuous improvement model to support capacity-building as LEA’s plan and implement digital-age teaching and learning environments. The development of this model has provided a research-based, layered approach to guide this effort. Through a combination of face-to-face capacity building workshops, virtual technical support sessions, and customized coaching and consulting, the NCDPI-FI partnership has worked to strategically support twenty-nine (29) North Carolina Digital Learning Initiative Grantees for Planning and Implementation throughout 2018-2019. Enjoy the shared tools, resources, and research-based process designed and developed in partnership that provided support to align visioning, planning, and implementation of innovative digital-age teaching and learning. |
