Jaclyn is a unique combination of media designer and educator, beginning her career in education after her successful work as a media consultant and award winning graphic designer. As a Research Scholar and Instructional Innovator (more like an Instigator) with the Professional Learning and Leading Collaborative at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, part of North Carolina State University's College of Education, she coaches and assists K-12 educators, ITFs, and Leadership in the transition from the traditional education setting to one enhanced and transformed with digital-age tools and resources through professional capacity building and development workshops, online training, and face-to-face strategic planning for districts large and small.

Her mantra is to adapt, not adopt -  fostering digital-age initiatives to transform professional learning through changes in pedagogical shifts and meeting the needs of all learners to champion creativity and innovation.

She engages leadership teams and educators at all levels in innovative models of professional capacity building and strategic support to serve the visioning, planning, implementation, and assessment of blended and personalized learning and teaching programs. At a national level, Stevens presents regularly on educational frameworks, equitable digital-age strategic approaches for schools and districts, school culture and team building, and student-centered approaches to promote personalization and differentiation. Her mantra is to adapt, not adopt - fostering initiatives to transform professional learning through changes in pedagogical shifts and meeting the needs of all learners to champion creativity and innovation.

As of July 2020, Jaclyn is also serves as an educational innovation specialist consulting with American Institutes for Research as their lead remote learning subject matter expert. 

Prior to this, Stevens transitioned from a career as a media designer to that of educator thanks to her time with Americorp. She has taught middle and high school English Language Arts as well as Digital Media while supporting the creation of a New Tech High School in rural North Carolina.  She is licensed and certified as an Instructional Specialist, an Instructional Technology Facilitator, a Secondary Digital Media educator, a Secondary Language Arts educator, and holds a special endorsement in Computer Education.
